2. Personal Branding and Job Search Tools

Establishing and maintaining your personal brand. Finding your path, IKIGAI. Personal SWOT analysis. Job search strategies and tools. Job search resources in the Czech Republic.

3. CV and Cover Letter

CV dos and don'ts, section to include and exclude, tips on perfecting your CV. Writing a cover letter: why bother about it and how to stand out from the crowd.

4. The Power of Networking and LinkedIn in Managing Your Career

Networking: who, where and how? Confidence pillars. Conversation starters. Body language. Self-presentation and elevator pitch. LinkedIn - a powerful networking and job search tool.

5. The Importance of a Job Interview

Purpose of a job interview and your role there. Interview types. What to do before, during and after an interview. Dealing with nervousness.

6. Conflicts and Challenges in the Workplace. Salary Negotiations.

Oct 11 8:30am .. 11am, Room 3.12

Conflict resolution. Challenging situations you can face at work: how to deal with them. Salary negotiations: who initiates, when is the best time and how to approach this uneasy issue.

7. No class meeting. Mock interviews day.

No class meeting. Time slot reserved for mock interviews. - Arrange your mock interview individually for this time slot. - Individual consultations on internship search and feedback on assignments. Tip: if you chose to write an Individual Career Plan, use this time to work on it.

9. Carer talk 1. Democracy, Global Development and Public Participation.

Guest speaker: Vendula Menšíková, Network Coordinator at Reconstruction of the State NGO, Freelance Consultant in city and participation of citizens, Volunteer in Education for Citizenship and Sustainable Development at Czech Scouting NGO, Guide for Democratic Culture at a Czech school. Graduated from AAU in 2015 with MA in International Relations and Diplomacy, in 2013 with BA in International Relations. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 industry insider talks.

10. Residency Options for Graduates in the Czech Republic

Residency options in Czechia for students and graduates. EU nationals and their family members vs 3rd country nationals - who needs a work permit? Working after student visa and "other" visa. Guest speaker: Vanda Prošková, Leader to the Future program participant at United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs. Communications Consultant at Humanity in Action, New York. Previously employed at EU Rights Clinic, Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament (PNND). Graduated from AAU in 2020 with BA in International Relations. Completed LLM degree in International Law with International Conflict and Security at the Brussels School of International Studies. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 industry insider talks.

14. Career talk 5. From Diplomacy and Central Banking to Radio Free Europe.

Previously worked for the EU & International Organizations Division at the Czech National Bank, as a Deputy Head of Political Section at the British Embassy in Prague, Editor at The Economist Intelligence Unit / EIU, Senior Write at MEED. Graduated from AAU in 2004 with BA in Politics & Society. Completed MSc in European Politics & Governance at the London School of Economics and Political Science LSE. Optional.
