Practical info about the course and its requirements. Attendance policy. Career talks with industry insiders. Assignments. Internship requirements. Paperwork related to internship. You will meet AAU Career Development Specialist and will learn how you can benefit from individual career counseling.

3. Personal Branding and Job Search Tools

Establishing and maintaining your personal brand. Finding your path, IKIGAI. Personal SWOT analysis. Job search strategies and tools. Job search resources in the Czech Republic.

4. CV and Cover Letter

CV dos and don'ts, section to include and exclude, tips on perfecting your CV. Writing a cover letter: why bother about it and how to stand out from the crowd.

5. The Power of Networking and LinkedIn in Managing Your Career

Mar 5 8:30am .. 11am, Room 2.05

Networking: who, where and how? Confidence pillars. Conversation starters. Body language. Self-presentation and elevator pitch. LinkedIn - a powerful networking and job search tool.

6. The Importance of a Job Interview

Purpose of a job interview and your role there. Interview types. What to do before, during and after an interview. Dealing with nervousness and getting rejected.

9. Career talk 1. Freelance Journalism. Podcast Production.

Guest speaker: Morgan Childs, American freelance journalist based in Prague and podcast producer. Her work appeared in print, online, and radio, including The Atlantic, GQ, Politico EU, National Public Radio, BBC, Travel + Leisure, WSJ.com, Lucky Peach, Eater, and Radio Prague. Most recently Morgan has been working on the BBC Radio 4 / BBC Sounds series The News Gurus and the Audible Original 93 Women. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.

10. Career talk 2. Burnout Prevention

Guest speaker: Judith Schmitt, Counselor & Trainer for Burnout Prevention and Strength Analysis. Currently pursuing PhD degree in Managerial Psychology and Sociology at the University of Economics in Prague focusing on healthy leadership and burnout prevention in remote working conditions. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.

11. Conflicts and Challenges in the Workplace. Salary Negotiations.

Guest speaker: Natálie Hadwigerová, Project Coordinator at People in Need. Previously worked for CEA Study Abroad and as an Event Planner for Trapass Cafe. Graduated from AAU with BA in Humanities, Society and Culture in 2016; MA in Humanities in 2023. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.

13. Personal Efficiency: Fighting Procrastination and Getting Things Done

15. Career talk 5. Career in Visual Arts: Cultural Instutution, Freelancing, Own Business

Guest speaker: Saša Vitov, A-i-R Production Manager at MeetFactory, Co-Founder and Creative Director at hereandthere. Graduates from AAU with BA in Visual Arts in 2021. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.
