Practical info about the course and its requirements. Attendance policy: required and optional class meetings. Career talks with industry insiders; proposed speakers. Assignments and deadlines. Internship requirements. Paperwork related to internship. Possible internship providers. You will meet AAU Career Development Specialist and will learn how you can benefit from individual career counseling.

2. Personal Branding and Job Search Tools

Finding your path, IKIGAI. The concept of personal brand. Establishing and maintaining your personal brand. Personal SWOT analysis. Job search strategies, tools and tips. Job search resources in the Czech Republic.

3. CV / Resume

CV dos and don'ts, section to include and exclude, tips on perfecting your CV.

4. Cover Letter, LinkedIn and Other Job Application Materials

Sep 25 3:30pm .. 6:15pm, Room 2.06

Writing a cover letter: why bother about it and how to stand out from the crowd. LinkedIn profile - an important element of professional portfolio. Applications through job sites and company's websites. Other application materials that might be required to submit.

5. The Power of Networking and LinkedIn in Managing Your Career

Networking: who, where and how? Confidence pillars. Conversation starters. Body language. Self-presentation and elevator pitch. LinkedIn - a powerful networking and job search tool. Being visible and being an active user. LinkedIn dos and don'ts. Career development with the help of professional community.

6. The Importance of a Job Interview

Purpose of a job interview and your role there. Interview types. Before, during and after an interview: what to do and what to avoid. Dealing with nervousness and getting rejected.

7. RESCHEDULE Conflicts and Challenges in the Workplace. Salary Negotiations.

Conflict resolution. Challenging situations you can face at work: how to deal with them. Salary negotiations: who initiates, when is the best time and how to approach this uneasy issue. What is a burnout and how to prevent it.

8. No class meeting. Mock interviews day.

No class meeting. Time slot reserved for mock interviews. - Arrange your mock interview individually for this time slot. - Individual consultations on internship search and feedback on assignments. Tip: if you chose to write an Individual Career Plan, use this time to work on it.

10. Career talk 1. Marketing in an Advertising Agency and In-House

Guest speaker: Anastasia Aleksashova, Digital Ads Campaign Team Lead at Notino. Previously Head of Marketing at Wiremax; Marketing & Operations Lead at Ematix advertising agency. Graduated from AAU in 2020 with a BA degree in Business Administration: Marketing & Communications. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.

11. Career talk 2. YouTube and Social Media Management

Lenka Kosmatova, Youtuber, AI Enthusiast, content creator, educator, and keynote speaker. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.

12. ONLINE CLASS Career talk 3. Career in HR. Tips from HR on Job Search and Applications.

Guest speaker: Kamila Yessekina, HR Shared Service Center Support at Microsoft. Previously worked in HR for Amazon and SAP. Graduated from AAU with BA in International Relations in 2022. Completed MS in Economics & Management at Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.

13. Career talk 4. Company visit to ABInBev

Nov 27 3:30pm .. 6:15pm, ABInBev

We will visit ABInBev, the world's largest brewer, to learn about the company, their internship and graduate programs, and opportunities upon graduation. Address: Vyskočilova 1422/1A, 140 00 Praha 4-Michle. I will send you detailed instructions on how to get there. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.

14. ONLINE CLASS Career talk 5. Entrepreneurship and Startups.

Guest speaker: Simone Bertolone, Director, Growth & Business Development at Orka Ventures, Startup Mentor at Founder Institute. Graduated from AAU in 2019 with Chapman MBA; in 2017 with BA in International Relations. Optional. You are required to attend 3/5 career talks.
